Cathedral of Praise 29th Easter Conference. I was looking forward to this Easter Conference with excitement and anticipation. Despite the busyness of life this Convention is an absolute priority in Greg’s and my lives. We want to take every opportunity to position ourselves to receive what God is saying to this, His local church.

Pastor Claude has spoken often that this is the year of breakthrough and breakout and I believed that this Easter would play a pivotal part in that.

Although I had previously heard Pastor Clarke Taylor preach, I must admit that despite my anticipation, I was not prepared for the outstanding and anointed preaching which he delivered. He truly went to another level. Each message was full of powerful, yet extremely clear teaching.

The gospel message that was given Friday morning, ‘Did Jesus Do Enough?’ was so clear and concise and a great challenge and reminder for us all. Pastor Clarke showed us that when we truly understand the horrible, corrosive nature of sin then we can appreciate just how much we have each been forgiven. Praise God for His great love. We need to constantly behold the perfect Lamb of God…. and this was just the first service!

Each message was rich and anointed – from The Power of Child-like Faith, to Grace, to The Flesh is Deceptive, to The Call and Equipment of God. Whether you were at the meetings or not, I strongly want to encourage you to purchase the cd’s. These are teachings that we all need to listen to again and again. They will be such a blessing to you if you allow the Word to dwell richly in you and allow God to open fresh revelation.

One of the messages that really stood out for me was Friday night’s – ‘How To Meditate’. Pastor Clarke unpacked the meaning of this. To meditate is – to imagine, to think, inward thinking. We all meditate on something but this can either be negative (worry) or positive (God’s truth). Psalm 19:14 says, “May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight.” He showed us that we need to take a truth of God, think on it and let God fill it out. Meditation takes information and turns it into revelation; it takes relationship and turns it into fellowship. We need to replay what God has said. Pastor Clarke used an excellent illustration of a video cassette. (You’ll have to purchase the cd if you didn’t hear it). He finished by stressing the importance of staying clothed with God the Holy Spirit.

For me personally as Worship Director, the Praise and Worship for the weekend is of course of great importance. I understand the vital role that praise and worship has in our services and how it can lead people into the presence of God and prepares a way for the preaching of the Word. Right from the very start the Praise and Worship was anointed and rich. It was wonderful to worship in such a releasing atmosphere. As I commented to our team, it was like stepping into a river that was already flowing strongly and just continued to gain momentum as the weekend continued. I thank God for such an amazing team of musicians and singers who serve so joyfully and sacrificially. When I sing that beautiful song that was introduced on the weekend, Stay Amazed, I am reminded again that we have an amazing and Holy God who, because of His great love, sent His only Son, Jesus, to bear our sin and sickness on the cross. He is so much more than words could ever say!

Over the three days many people were healed, baptised in the Spirit and at least 7 made a first time decision to follow Jesus. I know that something rich and powerful has been deposited in my spirit and I look forward to seeing what God will continue to do in and through us and to see breakthrough and breakout in this year.
